2. Follicles and Stromal tissues
The thyroid gland is composed of follicles and stromal tissues. Each thyroid follicles is composed of follicular cells, enclosing a cavity. The follicular cells synthesize two hormones – Tetraiodothyronine or thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).
